The concern is with latex from natural rubber, which is in some vial stoppers, syringe plungers, pens, needle hubs, etc...not the med itself.

Know the risk level of certain packaging components. For instance, vial stoppers and syringe plungers containing latex are considered high risk due to being in direct contact with the drug. But latex risk in caps or needle shields of prefilled syringes is much lower.
