Watch for Tenapanor for Irritable Bowel Syndrome

You may see new Rx tenapanor (Ibsrela) for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) on home med lists.
It's touted to work differently than other meds for IBS-C...such as linaclotide (Linzess), lubiprostone (Amitiza), or plecanatide (Trulance).
But ultimately, they all increase fluid in the gut to relieve constipation...and there's no proof tenapanor is more effective.
