More hospitals will start using ENFit devices (enteral syringes, nasogastric tubing, etc)...as manufacturers phase out older devices.
ENFit reduces the risk of giving oral liquid meds or enteral nutrition by the wrong route...since ENFit devices don’t easily connect to NON-enteral lines (IV, epidural, etc).
Expect to see purple or orange coloring on ENFit devices.
