Think of IV Oliceridine as Similar to IV Morphine
You'll hear about the new IV opioid oliceridine (Olinvyk).
Think of it as similar to fentanyl, hydromorphone, or morphine. It can be given IV push...or via patient-controlled analgesia (PCA).
One difference is that oliceridine is theoretically less likely to cause opioid side effects, such as slowed breathing...because of how it interacts with pain receptors.
