Prevent Large-Volume IV Mix-Ups

You can help avoid product selection errors with large-volume parenterals...such as IV fluids and premixed drips.

These often occur because of look-alike packaging...such as similar labels, sizes, or overwraps.

For example, heparin premixes from one manufacturer come in 1,000... 20,000...and 25,000 unit/500 mL concentrations. One of the only visible differences is the number of units shown on the label.
