You can help find solutions to the sterile water shortage problem.

Determine if you can use a different diluent for some meds. For example, ertapenem product labeling recommends reconstituting the powder with sterile water OR normal saline.

Be aware that alternative diluents may be okay...even if product labeling only recommends sterile water. Work with your pharmacist to find out if there are other options.
