Rezafungin (Rezzayo) will be the first once-weekly “echinocandin” IV antifungal med.
Think of rezafungin as similar to once-daily echinocandins...anidulafungin, caspofungin, and micafungin. It’s approved for Candida yeast infections in the blood and invasive “candidiasis.”
Rezafungin seems to work as well as caspofungin for reducing the risk of death and curing these infections.
