Hospital pharmacies will update the contents of crash cart trays...due to new Am Heart Assn guidelines.
Watch for vasopressin vials to be removed. It's no longer recommended for adults in cardiac arrest...and it costs about $200 per dose.
Don't be surprised to see lidocaine added in pediatric crash carts...since it's now an option if defibrillation and epinephrine aren't effective.
