Another round of med errors will force new checks and balances to avoid mishaps with risperidone (Risperdal) and ropinirole (Requip).
Risperidone is used as an antipsychotic to treat schizophrenia and other psychiatric conditions...but there are over 200 reports of it being mixed-up with the Parkinson's med, ropinirole.
These errors aren't surprising. Both meds have similar names...look-alike labels...and overlapping strengths, dosage forms, and dosing.
